The author never tells us the stories behind some of the
most important paintings such as Nostagio degli Onesti or The Miracles of
San Zenobio. Instead, he wastes ink on informing us that the Virgin wore blue
or that Augustine had light in his eyes. That's what illustrations are for, idiot.
