These notes were written partially to help me understand
elements of Spinoza's philosophy by restating and re-arguing them. To that
extent they may have some pedagogical value. But the overriding purpose is to
distinguish what is correct and defensible from what is incorrect and
indefensible in Spinoza's philosophical writings and to formulate as best I can
the arguments, which carry differing levels of conviction, in defense of what is
correct.
